Modern Warfare 3 Makes The Grade

Infinity Ward makes their heroic return with Modern Warfare 3. While everything
else rests exactly the same as before, a whole new single player
campaign is introduced along with a similar multiplayer mode that
improves from Modern Warfare 2.
The single player campaign is not quite as long as like the previous
Modern Warfare titles, it is still bundled with hundreds of intel cases
meticulously scattered around the map. The story is also much easier to
follow in the campaigns than in Modern Warfare 3 which focuses on a
lone soldier trying to survive and kill hordes of Russian soldiers,
tanks and helicopters, together with another story of a team of special
American soldiers quietly crawling their way to the Russian president.
Modern Warfare 3 is as realistic as its predecessor, plus this game
takes it a step further with even more action pack campaigns than
Modern Warfare 2. During the course of the game, the player will kill
hundreds of soldiers throughout the campaign. But with all of this
action, the game will be finished within 3 hours with a third of that
being scripted sequences. What a dull!
Even though the campaign falls short of my expectations, Spec Ops mode
has returned in a level select screen format which adds playability of
the game, which is also able to play co-op mode. Many often skip the
campaign mode and go straight to the multiplayer mode. Infinity Ward
has made the correct formula that made Modern Warfare 2 so successful
by upgrading the multiplayer mode. The first thing that you will
probably notice is the statistics for all the guns. They have changed
it making every weapon immensely underpowered except assault rifles
which we really love to use. There are many perks that Modern Warfare 3
offers; the new sleight of hand pro perk not only decreases the time to
go from hip to sights by almost 90%, but also snaps to any target
within a 180 degree field of view. The new commando pro perk basically
turns the knife into a long range weapon with substantial hit
detection. The new army of one perk allows the player to carry infinite
rifle grenades as well as increasing spread damage from rifle grenades.
The cold-blooded pro allows the user to turn the same color with the
walls that they hide upon just like a chameleon while disabling
kill-cams for anyone they kill.
Killstreaks have also been modified a little. Killstreaks are almost
all the same for the Warfare trilogy except that the airships and the
tactical nuke are much more accessible. One Killstreak that has been
added is the RC-XD, which Infinity Ward made it available with only a
single kill. As much as this game is concerned, there have been some
modifications in the new game like adding the wager matches and
removing the CoD point system. The game also tried to minimize the
objective type of playing where they increased the number of levels
achieved to 50 to unlock these modes.
All in all, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 lives up to the expectations
of their fans in providing intense action and strategy game. Read more...
